South County Jamboree kicks off football season
The high school football season began last Friday at Dick Force Stadium in Gonzales with the South County Football Jamboree.

Cross country runners from Gonzales, Greenfield, and King City joined over 70 teams and 2000 plus runners at the Earlybird Invitational Cross Country Meet.
Grey beats Blue in CTF game
A 40-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Brett Baker to receiver Tony Amezcua in the third quarter held up as the Correctional Training Facility at Soledad Grey football team defeated the CTF Blue team 14-6 at Saturday’s Blue/Grey Game at Greenfield High School.

Students from Carrillo’s Karate Do Studios in King City and Greenfield came home with medals after competing on Saturday at the 29th Annual Fall Karate Championships and Demonstration at Homestead High School in Cupertino.

KC boys track team beat Carmel
The King City boys track and field boys team took first place in five events in a 86 to 50 win over the Carmel Padres last Thursday on the Pacific Grove High School track.

A physical imposing Fremont High Tigers football team spoiled the season debut of the host Gonzales Spartans, manhandling the host by a 62-7 score.
