King City continues solid play
With over half the league season completed, the King City Lady Mustangs are in second place in team standings with a 7-1 record. King City won two games last week, defeating the host Carmel Padres 3-1 and beating the Pacific Grove Breakers on the road.
Lady Aztecs in 1st-place tie
Wins over the Gonzales Spartans and Santa Catalina Cougars moved the Soledad Lady Aztecs to a first place tie with co-Mission Trail Athletic League leaders King City and Robert Louis Stevenson at 6-1. Soledad is now in double figures in wins, with a 10-6 overall mark.
Berlanga chosen as GUHS football coach
With over 10 years of football coaching experience Arthur Berlanga is ready to become a head coach. Fortunately for Gonzales High School, 34-year-old Berlanga has chosen Gonzales as the school to start off his head coaching career.

Greenfield teams win Valley Meet
Led by first place finishers Luis Meza and Maria Hernandez the Greenfield boys and girls won the varsity divisions of the Valley Meet on Thursday at King City’s San Lorenzo Park. The cross country meet featured South County teams Greenfield, Soledad and host King City.
