Aztecs, Mustangs play 2 in league
The Soledad High Aztec varsity baseball team is 1-0-1 to start the Mission Trail Athletic League as they defeated King City 9-7 at home and played to a 2-2 tie with the Mustangs last Friday on the road.
Soledad Warrior Cheer wins in San Francisco
A first place finish at the Jamz Regional Cheer Competition in San Francisco earned the Soledad Warrior Cheerleaders a bid to compete at the Jamz Nationals Cheer Competition that will take place in Las Vegas on Jan. 19-21.

Loss snaps Aztecs' win streak
six-game league win streak ended for the Soledad boys basketball team as the lost 69-53 last Friday at home against the first-place Carmel Padres. The Aztecs fell to 7-4 in the Mission Trail Athletic League after the loss and are now 10-11 overall.
Knights end Lady Aztecs' season
The host Soquel Knights knocked the Soledad Lady Aztecs out of the Central Coast Section Division III Playoffs with a 68-55 victory on Saturday in the Soquel High Gym.
Greenfield teams win Valley Meet
Led by first place finishers Luis Meza and Maria Hernandez the Greenfield boys and girls won the varsity divisions of the Valley Meet on Thursday at King City’s San Lorenzo Park. The cross country meet featured South County teams Greenfield, Soledad and host King City.
Council honors soccer team
Soledad City Council took time to honor the Soledad High School Aztecs Girls Soccer Team for winning the Mission Trail Athletic League Championship this year.
REACHING HIGH
South County high school athletic teams began observing “dead week” this past Sunday and athletes will have no contact with their coaches until July 30. Football, cross country and volleyball teams will resume regular practice after that date.
