Gonzales city officials formally submitted a response on Monday to a Grand Jury report that found law enforcement agencies in Monterey County lacked the adequate resources for rape kit testing. The city is required by law to respond to the report.

Soledad Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting and attempted homicide that occurred Tuesday morning in the 1700 block of Vosti Avenue in Soledad.

A 50-year-old male was shot several times in the 1600 block of Vosti Avenue on Sept. 6, according to Soledad Police.
