The fun and fabulous Trashion Show returns to King City for the third year. This year’s event promises to be even more exciting with a new theme, a new fashion presenter and over 22 unique one-of-a-kind dresses made from recycled and repurposed everyday trash.

The school year has begun, and that means new teachers have started at several Soledad schools, including Rose Ferrero and Jack Franscioni elementary schools.

Over 200 free fruit and vegetable samples were distributed on May 21 to celebrate the Fifth Annual National Salad Month. The samples were donated by local agricultural businesses in the area.

As Soledad High School students returned to school last week, they were met with orange cones and parts of the street lanes blocked off due to Pacific Gas and Electric Company upgrading portions of the natural gas distribution system that serves homes and businesses.

The Soledad High School has something special that the rest of the South County high schools don’t: the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC).

The Young Ladies Institute served approximately 400 luncheons during its annual salad bar lunch Oct. 25 at the South County YMCA.
