The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) are reminding everyone to stay cool and hydrated as temperatures across the state continue to climb.
Chamber Awards Gala called off
Soledad-Mission Chamber of Commerce will not be hosting its Chamber Awards Gala this year, although businesses and residents will still receive awards for Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Friend of the Community and Lifetime Achievement Award.

Monterey County Pops returns for free veterans concert
Monterey County Pops! orchestra’s “Salute to Veterans” concerts, performed in conjunction with the Veterans Day weekend, have been so well-received by hundreds of South County residents for the past four years that the Pops are bringing it back for another free concert at the King City High School Auditorium.
Feedback sought on police services
A new police survey was sent out to residents of Gonzales, Soledad, Greenfield and King City on Aug. 21 as part of the Strengthening Law Enforcement and Community Relations grant.
