Man kidnapped in Soledad home invasion

SOLEDAD — Soledad Police are currently looking for a 26-year-old man who they say was kidnapped in Soledad during a home invasion Monday morning.

On Oct. 22, at about 8:30 a.m., a home invasion and kidnapping occurred in the 1700 block of Marin Place in Soledad. Two or more suspects forced entry into a home, struggled with the male victim and then forcibly took him from the home.

According to Soledad Police Department, witnesses said they were awakened by the sound of the front door of the residence being forced open and then what appeared to be a struggle with the victim. They heard at least two subjects yelling at the victim and telling him to be quiet before he was forcibly removed from the home, police said.

The reporting party immediately contacted 911 and officers responded directly to the home. Upon arrival, officers found evidence of forced entry into the residence and conducted a canvas of the area.

The victim — Jorge Jasso, 26, who is 5-foot-8, 180 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair — was last seen wearing only dark shorts and no other clothing.

“Multiple witnesses have been interviewed and there is no known motive at this time,” police said in a news release Tuesday.

Investigators from the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are also assisting with the investigation.

Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact Sgt. Jorge Arreola at 831-223-5166 or call the Soledad Police Department directly at 831-223-5121. Anonymous calls can be made to the WeTIP hotline at 1-800-782-7463.
