Soledad awarded for energy savings
                    City of Soledad has earned a Beacon Spotlight Award by replacing streetlights with LED lighting and making energy saving improvements at the Water Reclamation Facility.

                    Soledad Christmas Celebration Committee is looking for girls and boys ages 3 to 17 years old to be part of the 24th annual Snow Queen and King Competition.

            Pinnacles National Park receives field trip grant from National Park Foundation
                    Pinnacles National Park will receive a field trip grant for the 2018-19 school year from the National Park Foundation, the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service. This $5,200 grant will be used to help underserved schools with the cost of transportation to Pinnacles National Park.                
                
            Mission Fiesta brings community together
                    Mission Soledad celebrated its 58th annual Mission Fiesta on Oct. 7, bringing Soledad and Mission residents together to eat chicken, enjoy some sun, listen to music and watch the Grape Stomp.                
                
            Rotary, Interact clubs host first joint meeting
                    Soledad High School Interact Club and Rotary Club came together for the first time for a quarterly meeting at California Gourmet Pizza on Sept. 27.

                    Hartnell College is coming to Soledad and will have a parcel of land to build the Soledad Outreach Educational Facility.                
                
            Dog days of summer
                    Dogs and their owners took over Front Street and Cesar Chavez Park on Sept. 29 to celebrate the first Dog Days of Summer, sponsored by South County Animal Rescue.                
                
            New left turn signals installed at Front and Nestles
                    Soledad drivers received some traffic relief after turn signal lights were added at the traffic intersection of Front Street and Nestles Road.
