RUNNING CHAMPS
For the third straight year the Greenfield boys are cross country champions of the Mission Trail Athletic League. The Bruins had five runners earn All-MTAL medals after out running the rest of the field. Greenfield finished first, followed by Pacific Grove and King City.
Soledad wins 17th game; tied for 2nd in league
Adrian Lopez allowed three hits in six innings to earn the pitching victory in a 2-0 shutout win over Alisal High by the Soledad Aztec varsity baseball team on April 19 at Hartnell College in Salinas.

Soledad alum named college soccer MVP
SOLEDAD — Soledad High graduate Belinda Ascencio led the Hartnell Panthers women’s soccer team to the Coast Conference championship, helping her team attain an 18-2-2 overall record.Â
For her leadership on the pitch, the 22-year-old forward was awarded the Coast Conference’s Most Valuable Player.

Dodgers place 2nd at TOC
The Gonzales Major Little League Dodgers completed a great season with a 21-5-1 overall record for a second place finish in the California District 9 Tournament of Champions.
Munoz, Contawe in finals
For the second straight year Roman Munoz of King City and Daniel Contawe of Soledad will be representing their respective high schools on Friday at the Central Coast Section Track and Field Championships.
