SOUTH COUNTY — Road runners will be gathering at the Soledad Mission and on River Road in Gonzales on Saturday for the Salinas Valley Half Marathon and 5K.
The annual half marathon run is part of the Big Sur Marathon Foundation and is a USA Track and Field certified course.
New this year to the half marathon event is the Salinas Valley 5K that will begin near the River Road spectator parking area and finish at Pessagno Winery at 1645 River Road.
The Salinas Valley Half Marathon will start on 36641 Fort Romie Road just north of the Soledad Mission and finish at Pessagno Winery.
Registration is still open for both races and interested runners can register at [email protected].
An awards ceremony of the half marathon will take place at 10 a.m. and continue until awards have been given out in every race category.
