SOLEDAD — The Soledad High School cross country team gathered on Dec. 11 for an awards presentation and team dinner at the El Michoacano Restaurant in Soledad. The Aztec runners enjoyed a variety of tacos and drinks and enjoyed cake for dessert.
After team members were presented with athletic certificates, special team awards were given to varsity boys, varsity girls, JV boys, and JV girls runners. JV boys award winners included: Gregory Carrillo (Aztec Award); Gabino Guzman (Most Improved); and Brian Flores (MVP). JV girls award winners were: Guadalupe Renteria (MVP); Elise Melchor (Most Improved); Isela Zarate (Aztec Award).
Varsity boys award winners were: Luis Alba (Coaches Award); Anselmo De Jesus (Aztec Award); and Victor Carmona (Most Improved); and Jesus Rodriguez (Most Valuable Runner). Varsity girls award winners were: Jessica Herrera (Coaches Award); Estefania Montiel (Most Improved); Marcela Perez (Aztec Award); and Daisy Virgen (Most Valuable Runner).
Each runner of the team received a pair of running shoes for their hard work.
