Frank J. Vanoli, 82, of Soledad, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Eden Valley Care Center in Soledad.
Frank was born August 17, 1934 to James and Anita Nicola Vanoli in King City, California and raised by his Dad and Step Mother, Loretta Sonongnini Vanoli. He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He farmed on the home ranch in Soledad, the Baker Ranch off Metz Road in Soledad, and worked at the Salinas Meat Co. and Monterey County vineyards.
Frank enjoyed making Swiss sausage, salami, & other Italian cold cuts, wood working, and watching the San Francisco Giants. He was a member of the Swiss American Club, Salinas Elks Club, Foresters of America, Our Lady of Solitude Catholic Church, and was Volunteer 4-H Leader and volunteer fire fighter in Soledad.
He is survived by his daughter, Lorie (John) Loomis of Santa Barbara and grandson, John Patrick; son, Tim (Cathy) Vanoli of Salinas and granddaughters, Katie and Megan; son, Mike (Jennifer) Vanoli of Carmel and granddaughters, Julia and Sarah, grandson Andrew; half brother, Bruno (Ann) Vanoli of Soledad; half sister, Rita (Bob) Martin of Reno NV; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his father, James; mother, Anita; step mother, Loretta; step mother Ana Dow; half sister, Norma Vanoli Haring.
Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 11 am at Our Lady of Solitude Catholic Church, 235 Main St, Soledad.
