SOLEDAD — A 50-year-old male was shot several times in the 1600 block of Vosti Avenue on Sept. 6, according to Soledad Police.
Officers were dispatched to the scene of the shooting at 8:52 p.m., when they found the Hispanic man conscious and breathing. The victim of the shooting had sustained multiple gunshots to his torso, arms and legs.
Fire and paramedics were called to the scene, administered first aid and then immediately transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. Once at the hospital, the victim underwent surgery for his injuries.
Upon conducting a canvas of the area, police officers located witnesses who said they heard the shots fired and then observed a subject running northbound on Vosti Avenue toward Third Street. The witnesses reported that the suspect jumped into a tan 1980s or 1990s single-cab pickup, which was last seen fleeing eastbound toward Metz Road.
The suspect is described as Hispanic male, 5’6” to 5’9″ tall, thin build, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black and red shorts with black shoes.
