SOLEDAD — In a small ceremony held last week at City Hall, the City of Soledad added another officer to its ranks.
Soledad Police Chief Eric Sills introduced new Officer Mustafa Yasin to the people in attendance at the Soledad City Council meeting. Family, friends, city staff and his fellow officers attended the ceremony.
The oath of office was administered by Chief Sills, and soon Yasin’s badge was pinned to his chest.
“Today I had the honor of swearing in our newest police officer, Mustafa Yasin,” said Sills. “Mustafa comes to us with several years of police experience from Greenfield and Watsonville.”
Yasin brings years of experience with him to the City of Soledad, including being an officer in Greenfield, Watsonville, plus Yasin also served as a Police Explorer Cadet with the Salinas Police Department and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
Yasin is a native of Monterey County. He grew up in a bilingual home and speaks Spanish fluently.
