SOLEDAD — Hahn Family Wines welcomed wine club members, family and friends to its Annual Harvest Celebration on Oct. 13.
Several stations were set up to taste different wine varieties Hahn specializes in, such as its 2016 Santa Lucia Highlands (SLH) Chardonnay, 2013 SLH Pinot Noir, 2015 Pinot Noir Gabrielle and 2016 SLH Pinot Noir. At the final station, the wine tasters’ favorite was served.
A special attraction during the event was falconer Kathleen Tigan, who let celebrators get an up-close look at an owl. In vineyards, growers deal with all sorts of pests, including birds, that come in and steal grapes from the vines.
