SOLEDAD — Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) meetings are underway in Soledad and saw a large parent turnout at the first meeting at San Vicente Elementary on Jan. 31.
Staff from Soledad Unified School District and San Vicente Elementary led a parent interactive stakeholder meeting last Thursday evening to discuss the things that are going well at the school and the things that could be improved.
One of the largest parental concerns was student safety. Parents felt that drills were going well but wanted to see more in-school suspensions rather than at-home suspensions.
The number of suspensions at San Vicente Elementary have increased this school year and is in the medium level area.
Parents also provided feedback for school staff to receive medical training for CPR as well as additional professional development and to offer dual immersion classes for Spanish and English.
