Dog waste bag distribution boxes can now be found around town.
SOLEDAD — City of Soledad has recently put up dog waste bag distribution boxes in 12 locations around town.
Pet owners can grab a trash bag when walking their pets if they forgot a plastic bag or don’t have one with them.
According to Doodycalls, a pet waste management company, dog waste is an environmental pollutant and is placed in the same category as herbicides and insecticides, oil, grease and toxic chemicals, by the Environmental Protection Agency. Dog waste is also not good for lawns, causing burns and discoloring.
Locations of the dog waste bag boxes include Orchard Lane and Gabilan Street. The box locations, however, do not have trash cans at this time, so residents are asked to properly dispose of the waste.
