SOLEDAD — Soledad Fourth of July Committee prepared several hundred Swiss sausage barbecue lunches June 21 to raise funds for the fireworks display on July 4.
Committee Member Pauline Tomasini said the committee raised a few thousand dollars during the event and are still accepting donations for the display to start a reserve for next year.
On July 4, the festivities begin with a children’s parade at noon with line-up time at noon. Groups and individuals can register that day at Main Street Middle School and have an option to dress in patriotic clothing.
Pets are welcome during the parade as long as they are on a leash or in a wagon.
