UnitedAg extends services to South County

SOUTH COUNTY — Seven health and wellness clinics, including two in South County, have been added to UnitedAg’s growing network that serves California farmworkers and their families.

UnitedAg, a member-owned agricultural trade association representing more than 650 organizations in California and Arizona, partnered with Salinas-based Pinnacle HealthCare to extend services to thousands more of its eligible participants through Pinnacle-operated clinics in King City and Soledad as well as the other agricultural communities of Freedom, Hollister, Los Banos, Salinas (Blanco) and Salinas (Rossi). The agreement took effect July 1.

The clinics provide services unique to the agricultural community — from acute and episodic care to health-risk and disease management to wellness and prevention — in addition to on-site prescriptions and lab services, with an emphasis on short wait times and personalized care.

According to UnitedAg, many of the services are provided with zero copays or deductibles under most of its sponsored benefit plans.

“We’re proud to increase the availability of beneficial health and wellness services to so many more of our member’s employees and their dependents across California’s agricultural communities through this agreement,” said Kirti Mutatkar, president and CEO of UnitedAg, in a news release. “In partnership with Pinnacle HealthCare, we’re advancing a new model in healthcare that delivers comprehensive, high-quality services to farmworkers and their families at an affordable cost.”

With the addition of these seven clinics to its member network, UnitedAg now offers services at a total of nine health and wellness facilities across California that are available to its members’ employees and dependents with medical coverage through United Agricultural Benefit Trust. The new clinics join UnitedAg’s two existing facilities in Santa Maria and Visalia.

In celebration of the additional clinics, UnitedAg has scheduled a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Aug. 3, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., at the Pinnacle HealthCare Salinas (Blanco) Clinic, at 947 Blanco Circle. Interested ag employers are encouraged to attend. To RSVP, contact Martee Camarillo at [email protected] or 949-975-1424.
