Soledad to enforce strict no illegal fireworks policy

SOLEDAD — The City of Soledad will enforce a strict no illegal fireworks policy this Fourth of July.

“We want our community to have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July,” said Damon Wasson, deputy police chief, City of Soledad. “Illegal fireworks pose a major safety hazard to our residents. For that reason, we will be enforcing our strict no illegal fireworks policy for the July 4 weekend.”

Anyone found in possession of illegal fireworks shall be subject to fines of up to $500.

City officials have specified that only Safe-and-Sane fireworks will be permitted within Soledad.
